Online Ecosystem for providing used Books Free of Charge with Some Delivery Cost

While surfing the Web through Google Search, came across an wonderful website that bridges the gap between students who can not afford buying new books and those who have books lying unused in their book shelf for long. Although, in the famous College Street footpaths of Kolkata, we sometimes get old books in damn cheap price, but that is mostly an unorganized sector, which is like treasure hunt and there is very little chance of instant success when you are in search of a particular book. The website https://www.mypustak.com is bound to help determined and needy students who wants to excel despite their financial constraints. The journey of this website service is also very fascinating which depends very much on thousands of book donors - individual and organization across India. Wonderful and great initiative. Kudos to the founders of this venture and the book donors.

NTA Previous Question Papers Download for NEET and NET in Computer Science and Other Subjects

For several times, I had searched in Google to download previous year's question papers of NET, and NEET. Earlier UGC and CSIR used to conduct the NET examinations and they used to maintain the previous years question papers very systematically. From December 2014, NTA took over the responsibility of conducting UGC NET examinations.

But Google search only shows the links that are very annoying and useless mostly. Recently, I found that NTA maintains a link to download previous years question papers for the different examinations it conducts such as NEET for Medical Entrance, NET for UGC and CSIR fellowship, IIT JEE-Main and other relevant examinations. However, it shows the link of only for the years of 2018, and 2019 as of now. The website address is https://nta.ac.in/Downloads

For example, To download question paper of NET Computer Science of 2019, select the appropriate options to get screen like the following, and then click on the question paper and click on the OK button of Dialog Box that appears stating download initiated.

Similarly, to download NEET question paper for 2019, select appropriate options. A sample selection of options screen is shown below:

MCA Course Duration Will be of 2 Years from 2020

It is going to be the fulfilment of much-awaited with the crucial policy decision to make Master of Computer Applications / MCA course of two years duration. As per the article in TOI, MCA is going to be of two years duration from the academic year 2020. Well, this decision of AICTE is to be congratulated. As, most of the students who seeks admission to MCA course are from either Computer Science / Computer Application / Science background with enough computer courses in CBCS pattern course structure so that there will be no problem if the duration of MCA is trimmed to be of two years and the parity with other Master Degree courses duration are maintained.
Earlier, students with Computer Science / Computer Application had the opportunity to take admission in second year of the MCA course as lateral entry students. But this facility was not available in some of the states such as West Bengal. So, the students will get benefit in terms of reduced total course fees, one year great savings of worthy time. Now, there will be competitions among the two courses: M. Sc. Computer Science / IT and MCA to attract students.

AICTE has put the notice dated 03.07.2020 officially in its website regarding this change.
